Used different multimeter this time set to millivolts.
Positive battery terminal to input on starter solenoid while cranking was 165
Positive to output side of solenoid 225
Negative battery terminal to starter case 135
Cleaned all battery posts, cable ends (positive and negative), cable ends at starter, both grounds to engine block, and small block to frame ground.
Cleaned starter face and face it bolts to.
With the new reman starter that was the old log style, I would say maybe a little better but I don't think that starter is on par with a new non reman.
With the new SD style starter from Ford it's considerably quicker.
No complaints really now but wondering if replacing battery cables still might be a good idea or waste of money?
I stumbled upon some free cable amd made mine, similar to what custombatterycables does. Even used military terminals, which are pretty nice.
I agree that grounds are what I think makes the biggest difference. Should be a good ground between body and batteries and engine. I think On mine, the drivers side battery grounds to the core support and the passenger side ground to the timing cover bolt on the engine.
I have a powerblaster starter in my truck if i remmeber right. Looked at the mean bean one, but was a bit pricey and im just a struggling GI
