Thanks. Yea I'm in for the long haul. Hopefully this new truck will last half as long as the old Chevy.
I had a 2002 Chevy with the 6.0, and drove it for 20 years, and it was a great truck.
If you can get the 23 a few grand cheaper than the 24, and it has everything you want, I'd grab the 23, and save the $$$. Plus that black grill you can't see from the drivers seat.

Yea the 23 ends up being about $500 more. Thought the 24 was more expensive than it was. Makes it an even tougher choice.

Something to think about with the Sport appearance pkg…. The way you plan to keep this truck for years, the paint on those bumpers will start to chip before too long and you get rust spots all over. Looks like ***** after just a couple years. Little stuff like that drives me crazy. Maybe it won’t bother you. You could always ceramic coat the bumpers every couple years. You can’t go wrong with either truck!
My advice is go for the 23 if it has what you're looking for. Waiting around for the 24 is only going to open up yourself to be jerked around by Ford for up to a year, maybe even longer. Hell, things are so whacked out you may never get the 24 you ordered. I went through the same thing when I ordered a 23. Waited around for 6 months with no updates and finally just bought a 22 that came available all the sudden. Haven't looked back.
It's much cheaper getting the power running boards as an option than adding later. I wouldn't settle if you plan on keeping this truck for a long period of time. You might find a nicer truck for less money while you wait for your 2024 to be built. It's your money spend it like you like.
