Quite a few have added the 5th wheel prep hitch after delivery. There are some good videos outlining the process. The one thing you might find is that the center hole that was drilled for the B&W might not be in the same exact location as the Ford hitch. Close though.
The use of a lift isn't necessary but here is a good video.
70 year old me and my 65 year old wife did the install ourselves. Well, our next door neighbor helped lift the bed off and on. Went by the YouTube video, but you really don't have to. It is very straight forward.
Unbolt the bed from inside.
Unplug the wires behind the bumper.
Remove the tailgate.
Lift the bed off and drill puck hose.
Bolt on puck kit ($750 kit from Ford, though I found one used for $500).
Lift the bed on. Plug in the wires and bolt it in.
I would like my bed back in the 19, but would like to have the emergency ability to pull the B&W Companion puck out of the 23 and slap it in the 19, roadside if my 23 blows up at 10K like some are mysteriously prone to do.
We caravan with the 23 pulling the 5er and the 19 as the chase vehicle, beach vehicle, emergency 2nd tow vehicle.
This will help me..........AS LONG AS THERE IS NOT A FAKE SUPPLY CHAIN SHORTAGE OF THE PUCK HITCH KITS which is the next thing I will be finding out this week.
The only thing to be watchful of in lifting the bed is do NOT go straight up with it. The lower front corner of the bed side curves under the cab, so you have to lift and move a few times so the corners clear, then you can go straight up. I used forks on my tractor to remove the steel bed off my 2012, which can go straight up, by slipping a pair of 2x4 under the bed rail and resting them on the forks. A strap from the fork frame to the front be rail kept it from tipping.

Wonder if the guys at the dealership know this, or if they messed up a few trucks learning.
I'd like to lose the B&W Turnover Ball that I have a B&W Companion in on my 2019 F350, and go to the puck system I have in the 2023 F450
Anyone retrofit a bed with a puck style hitch?
Were you able to retro fit to the puck style?
I have the B&W turnover in my ‘19 SB and would like to go to the OEM puck style but have found that the hold for the B&W and OEM are around 3/4” off in location according to google. Any update would be greatly appreciated before I ordered the puck setup and drilled the four corners.
