Fuel Injector code
Hey All,
2018 3.5 Ecoboost
While driving at highway speed either with cruise control activated or maintaining an even speed with the pedal I have experienced a moderate frequency shudder. To stop it I either stabbed the throttle or tapped the brake. The third time this happened the check engine light came on. Put the ODBII on it and got p21D2. I have a new FORscan adapter headed to me for more info on the code. Does anyone else have any insight to my situation. Thank you for any help or advice on this one.

Here's the definition for the P21Dx DTC, cylinder #4 in this example.
Since the fault appears to be intermittent, I'd put the injector and/or its pigtail at the top of the suspect list.
P21D2 - Cylinder 4 Injector B Circuit/Open
Description: The comprehensive component monitor (CCM) monitors the operation of the fuel injector drivers in the PCM. This DTC sets when the fuel injector circuitry is inoperative. Possible Causes:
Key On Engine Off Key On Engine Running Continuous Memory All
GO to Pinpoint Test KG .

Thanks both of you for the guidance. Not really jazzed about pulling the intake off to get to that injector but shouldn’t be too bad. My wife and I recently moved to a very rural setting so hopefully I don’t find any rodent activity.
I plan on replacing the injector in question for sure unless there is clear evidence of a different culprit. Do you think it would be wise to replace all the injectors while I have things apart?
