In my opinion a leaking battery has failed, they are not designed to leak. Tell the dealer that, and ask that they replace the leaking battery/(ies), and take care of the damage caused by the leaks.
Great Danes, if you're servicing those batteries as you say, which I have no doubt you haven't, they are leaking/ fuming badly and need to be replaced, they're making a mess. Those fumes are highly flammable, I wouldn't smoke around them, a spark of any kind could an explosion. They might load test but need replacing.
Great Danes here is a pic of my '21' batteries just taken. These batteries were cleaned 11/1/22 (Here is from that thread) as you see they need a little cleaning again but there is no corrosion, I used the felt rings and put some spray on the post after the pic was taken. The thing I didn't do was sand and repaint the center hold downs. I'll do that this weekend when I pull and clean the batteries again. Just part of maintenance even though the batteries are maintenance free.
Yup...my batteries looked like yours. Dealer refused to replace them. They just wiped them down and said "It's normal"
I replaced mine with Interstate AGMs
Mine looked pretty much the same as yours, I ended up going with Cat 230-6368 batteries in mine, they were the only batteries other than Wally World I could get for under $150 a pop. So far so good, I had a wally world battery take out the 6.7 starter I put in my 7.3 a few years back so that soured me on them. Prior to that I had great luck with them. The group 65 Napa's I have had good luck with as well.
I guess I would ask why the batteries outgas as much.
I've had 2 F series trucks and never seen any acid on the tops. It reminds me of cars in the 70's.
Ps, never use baking soda... Just water, all you need to get a tiny amount to seep in and the batteries are toast.
But its cool to see the fizzing 🫣
Don't get the water/baking soda solution near the electrolyte holes and you'll be fine.
Well, to close this off, the dealership did not warranty anything related to the batteries, so I will run these for the summer and then switch out to some AGMs before the winter.
