I have a 88 f150 302 AOD. 2wd. I was driving home and I did a quick look being night and it looked fine under the truck. So it’s a slow vibration under 25-30 then it gets fast like rapid. And then from 35-40 it stops. There was stuff in the road, I avoided it I think. And I didn’t see anything under the truck and didn’t feel it hit anything.
It kinda vibrates in drive at a stop. But any car would so I need to drive it again to feel if it’s normal and just noticing it or if it’s new.
Could it be a fuel issue with the rear tank cross filling the front?
I don’t know if it was only accelerating, since I was worried about getting home. I need to test drive it in the day and verify everything.
That is a start but if you tried to miss something in the road and it started shortly after I would check tires.
A cord could have broken by hitting something even if you did not feel it.
Put each wheel in the air and support the truck.
Spin the tire and look at the tread if it goes off to 1 side and back.
Also check the inside and outside side wall for a bubble.

U-joints and driveshaft center support bearings.
Crawl under your truck and shake your drive shaft up and down, left and right, and in-and-out. You shouldnt notice any sort of movement except for the rubber pillow-blocks moving.
I did some test driving and inspecting today. I don’t see an issue in the drivetrain and the vibration has lessened and I can feel a periodic quick shake at idle and accelerating. U joints looked good no play in them. I pulled KOEO codes got code 32 CM. And then did KOER got codes 44, 77, 52. I didn’t do the brake petal smash or turn the steering wheel. I forgot to do those 2 things. I just did start it press test, mash accelerator and read codes. I didn’t think my truck had a pressure switch as well. But apparently it does I’ll redo test but I can’t right now.

I didn’t shake it up down, in and out. I will do that. The only rotational play is in the parking pawl both yokes move with the driveshaft in that play. Also I didn’t feel it as much when cold but I was on my dirt road going back and forth a bit so when it started to warm up was also when I went out on the roads. But I didn’t feel it when accelerating the first time on the road and then I stopped at a light and started feeling a periodic shake.
Why do these keep cracking I’ve replaced all the ones I’ve touched and all the new ones crack and the dry rotted ones are still going strong after 30 years.
Is there another brand besides dorman that sells these? Most of the ones I see are plastic ones.
