I've used the 4 wheel drive low a couple of times but never locked in the hubs. I didn't even notice until a few weeks ago that there were locking hubs. But when i used 4WL a couple of times, it seemed to engaged without me getting out and locking them in.
Can someone teach me what the purpose is of the locking hubs? Are they needed to operate in in 4WL?
Science you have a newer truck I assume that you have the 4high/4lo/2wd switch on the dash and not the manual lever on the floor correct?
if you have the the switch on the dash that means your transfer case is shifted into 4wd by an electric motor and your hubs automatically engage and disengage with vaccume pressure when you shift into or out of 4high or 4lo
the lockouts on the hubs are just a manual way to engage them if your vaccume hub sestem fails
