Front passenger side caliper locked
I bought a 97 F250, pulled to the right, found both front rotors were cracked. Right side had huge score marks. Replaced Rotors, pads, and calipers. The right side caliper was clamped down and had to be removed with a hammer. After replacing brake hardware the right side still clamps down and does not release. Truck pulls to the right and pulls even more when braking. The left side wheel can spin easily when on a jack and coasts a tiny bit. The right side takes elbow grease to spin with no brakes applied. With the wheel off, after applying brakes; the right side locks up. I replaced the flex line going to the caliper. The issue still persists. I went up the line and loosened fittings. The issue is still there. It unclamps a tiny bit but still requires a lot of effort to turn. After driving a few miles the right side is incredibly hot and theres brake dust. I have tried 2 different calipers. The left side seems fine but the right is stuck tight. Also flushed the fluid. Im frustrated and dont know what could cause this because both left and right calipers are on the same line to the master.
Alright so I replaced all the lines going to the master. Have all new hardware. Checked the runout on the rotor, less than or equal to 2 thousandths. I am perplexed. Could the brake mounts be bent?? I have no clue and the mechanic I talked to said he didn't know either. He recommended I get my brakes redone. I'm on my 3rd caliper.
the slide pins are lu ed and free. Cracking the bleeder allows fluid to slowly flow out, the brakes free up slightly but it's still tough to turn. Real tough.
slides just fine. I'm dropping by napa and getting another caliper today. Do you have any idea how to check to see if the mounting on the steering knucle is bent? I'm starting to think there may be a different problem causing these symptoms
