Excursion PCM reflash????
I have a 2002 7.3 excursion that my dad bought for the family about 8 years ago. It’s had some weird kinks since we bought it such as the interior lights staying on for about 5 min everytime it turns off; it will not go into “learning mode” for a key fob. The guy he bought it from said it had something to do with the pcm and it needed to be reflashed. Does this sound like something that would fix it?
If so… what route should I take in fixing it?
Do I just get a new one or send it out for reflash?
Also who are the reputable brands with this?
Thank you guys so much!
Any info helps
There is a module attached to the center of the firewall behind the radio and HVAC case that handles the keyless entry functions though. The instrument cluster has the courtesy lamps feature.
Caveat:
All doors must be closed to program the fobs. The courtesy lamps will stay on longer if a door switch is on.
