Hell, even a 302HO plastic fan fits these trucks and pulls more air than the steel guy. I run that, the HD clutch, thicker alu radiator, and well I guess that is all on my 302/AOD truck.
Red FOT, 38oz 134A, small tube/parallel flow condenser, FS10 comp 11oz PAO 68 oil. Done. JUST did that a few weeks ago, works beautiful in AZ heat...same setup in my 96 and 92.
Truck was up to temperature and hot.
Turned truck off moved radiator fan blades in circle and they moved the same as before I started the truck when truck was cold.
When I started the truck (cold) , the radiator fan came on immediately and stayed on. Ac was on the entire time I waited for the truck to warm up
Then the clutch isn’t working correctly and should be replaced.
I don’t think you understand how a belt driven fan works. It will always turn while the engine is running. The speed that it turns is controlled by the thermal clutch.

While that might be true, I have never had a problem with the stock (truck) cooling system. I also don’t live in the desert but the stock configuration should be fine in AZ or Alaska.
Which one of these is the right one? I see both when I Google it.
Get the colored ones and use blue. The hole w the lip goes down, inside the blue tool. Put tool on the line under neath the spring lock. Pull it up snug; then pull till it feels like it went into the spring lock. it will come loose.
