Just bought this ( I thought was a jewel) truck I was impressed with the fact it was a unibody. Cost me $500 and a sand blast cabinet but at least I can still use the cabinet. My first venture was to remove the front bumper, and I watched a you tube about removing the front clip I thought that's easy. Yep famous last words 8 bolts into I should have quit. The video said 3 bolts on left fender, 3 on right fender, and 2 frame mounts at radiator support. Well, many face full's of rust later no can do got the 6 fender bolts all located on rear part of fender two at top and one mounted to the inner panel. The 2 on frame had to cut off on bottom because even with the 11/16 on top held by ratchet and 3/4? under with 1/2 in impact no go. Tried to raise front clip wow no go. So am now in process of removing upper grill, center grill. Removed hood thought that might help release some pressure. Still a nope. Well about 5pm I'd had enough so cleaned up come in and googled radiator core support prices now I.m really depressed.
I feel ya! Sometimes it's better to leave good enough alone. These trucks tend to weld themself together over the years. I just ordered a new wiz bang product called Superzilla. I'll give it a go and see how it works.
The best way to get the front end apart is by taking the whole clip at once but you have to soak the bolts/nuts multiple times over a few days with you favorite penetrating oil... Not sure if you took off the two bolts that are accessed from inside the cab? Here is an image of mine.... Just takes two people to lift it off after you have all the wiring disconnected and the radiator out and the bumper off... Once it is off it is much easier to get the individual parts separated. Don't give up!
Ok missed the two inside cab, figures. My radiator core support is toast. Found a new one at NPD, Ocal Fl a 5 hour drive one way but $250 trk shipping! I like your tires they look familiar. I'll check the two bolts inside had to take a break my jack spilled it;s guts trying to lift the trk and had to go get a new one thank goodness for harbor freight.

1961/64: The steering shaft goes directly into the gearbox. So once the steering wheel is removed, the steering column and the gearbox is removed as a one piece assembly.
Need to throw out another question where are people finding the drag link for the 62 2wd Ihave the Moog number but seems no-one has it?
Hopefully nd or someone else will correct me on this. I have a 64 2wd and bought the last known link. It was from a Ford dealer. Moog has been contacted by a member to inquire about getting more made since there's a demand. They declined. I hope the link for 62 and 64 are different. Number Dummy should know.
