I'm putting a 79 bed on a 76 truck, and I have a feeling I'll need a different filler neck. Does anyone know the differences? Will I need anything else?

Thanks!
i’d have to look at the two I have again to remember for sure but the difference is based on whether or not your fuel tank came with or without EVAP. The factory EVAP tank neck has shallow slots for the lugs on the cap to lock into, the non evap tank has deeper lugs . Also non evap uses a vented cap
Thanks! It has a recent replacement tank installed by shop, and I haven't looked. It's at the body shop right getting the final touches done, but I bet it's non-evap tank with a bed that normally goes with an eval setup. Could be tricky.
The 76 filler has the cap on the outside of the bed. The 79 bed hides the filler behind a door. Filler tubes are very different. All had a vent tube attached to them to aid in filling.

my 76 f100 has an in cab tank and aft tank. Aft tank has a square filler door on the bed and had evap stock. Maybe this is why when I ordered a fuel cap for the rear tank and non evap it didn’r fit

Then my old bed wasn't original (not surprising), as it had a flap leading to a space with the cap and filler inside. And a lot of room, like maybe it should have had that plastic filling it in, so now I'm even more sure it wasn't an original bed. Probably a 76 filler and cap behind a 78/79 style flap.
