1959 F700 Decode
I just want to say Hello and thank you in advance for any and all help. I'm in need of any info I can find on this serial plate and if their are any other spots on the truck I could look for more stamping to decode possibly. The data plate posted is all I could find and was in the glove box, This truck and mechanisms are incredibly wild underneath and I will start a thread soon on the restoration but for now any info on the decode would be awesome! Thank you again for anyone's help..
F70 = F700, 21,000 lbs GVWR
C = 292 2V MD Ford Y-block gas V8, 158 certified net HP @ 4000 RPM
9 = 1959 model year
U = Louisville Assembly Plant
27122 = Serial number
175 = 175 inch wheelbase
X = I do not have complete info on paint codes and this one doesn't show in what I do have.
F70C = Not shown. Model codes are one letter and three numbers, like F700 or F701 etc. If a typo and it should be F700, then it's F700, 21,000 lbs GVWR
28 D = 28th day of 4th month, so April 28th 1959 production.
H = Clark 250V OR New Process 540 five speed direct transmission
12 = 7.20 rear axle ratio. No other axle info, but the axle should have info above the pinion and on the housing, driver side front.
No front axle code, possibly simply not provided for that model year.
21000 = 21,000 lbs GVWR
158 4000 = 158 certified net HP @ 4000 RPM
No DSO shown.
Let me know if something doesn't line up.

Anything or anywhere else can I look for numbers to decode on the truck or is that it for the most? Thanks.
The transmission will have numbers or identifying marks on it to see if it is Clark or NP, and the axle will have a tag on it or numbers stamped showing the manufacturer, model etc.
You shouldn't have widowmaker wheels but post a picture if you want.
If it runs and you've been through the brakes and they work, you are well on your way......
