After viewing the latest new member thread, I decided to look in the membership request area and found six requests. Obviously, I have been derelict in my duties. My apologies. I have accepted all six but didn't write down their names. However, I have not seen any new names post here, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Anyway, EZ click on the blue link, and I will check again later today and approve you.
How's it going in Fresno today? We are setting at 25° and the sun has just now made it over the hill and is shining on the house. It was only 18° when I got up an hour ago.
Central valley gets more like real seasons, although by midwestern standards is still quite mild. out here in the coastal hills we got down to 31 this morning. Sunny though.
Dave Grohl is apparently into brisket. And he's smoking it. Brisket is difficult to cook. Smoking is even harder. I usually don't get brisket because it's such a large piece of meat. Even trying to give it out to my extended family, it's a lot of meat. I don't have any secret recipe. Just salt and pepper. Slow roast. The fat renders. Then find about 20 people to help eat it. I still don't know how to do it Asian style, with the spices and thick sauce. As with every other type of food product, Asian recipes are hard.
I will say it. I am not a fan of her policy positions. I have other ideas which do not line up with her politics. However, I do wish her a speedy recovery and good health.
Shingles is very painful. I just had my first shingles vaccine a month or so ago, and it knocked me down for a day. I am due for my booster here in the next month or so, and I'm not really looking forward to it.
WRT brisket. We have a cousin who is very handy who built his own smoker from a used propane tank. It's ginormous; he can smoke 4 or 5 briskets at the same time. He mounted it on a used trailer frame, and he can tow it around when he does catering (he lives up by Grass Valley). We had some of his brisket the last time we visited there, and it was outstanding.
