Everyone batten down the hatches. It looks like we'll be getting another storm tonight & tomorrow. Weather guessers seem to think this one will be more mild, but we shall see. I'll make a run to the corner to stock up on generator fuel. The last couple of outages have lasted about 72 hours each.

I also changed the oil & filters on the genny & put in a fresh set of spark plugs.

How self sufficient is your property? Do you have vegetables growing? Or some chickens, goats, and things like that?

I often wish for my own livestock, and crops. What grows in my yard is more of a novelty than anything else. In a few months, I can harvest 2 celery. There are exactly 2 pepino melon which will ripen with spring weather. Last year I yielded 4 pumpkins. I can't even grow enough green onions to use. Although I do manage about 20 lbs of potatoes. That's good enough for about 2 weeks.

I do luck out with at least 50 lbs of figs which all ripen at once. A tree full of peaches and tiny miniature plums also mature all at once nce. Not sustainable to have 100 pieces of fruit ripening at the same time. 2 weeks to eat it all, or compost it. I also get a week long loquat buffet. The only tree which holds the fruit well, and allows me to space out the use, is the lime tree..... But if I drank more margaritas, it won't be sustainable.

More rain eh? Guess I'll hunker down again. Can't go anywhere with a bad wheel anyway.

I got the news. Several times. About a 1/2 dozen emails and texts.

I'll see you the rain and wind and raise you heavy (weight/water content) snow and high winds.

With the water we have gotten, some of the infrastructure is not doing so hot. Multiple slides/slip outs and SR-70 was closed this afternoon for a sink ole that tried to eat a propane delivery truck (full).

Maybe some of that will trickle down to Fresno.

We are semi self sufficient. We don't have a garden because we like the wildlife coming up close to the house and we don't have fences. Several of our neighbors (there are 9 on our private road) have chickens and surplus eggs. Those with fences and dogs also have gardens. So among the 9 of us, we can probably survive for quite a while. If I need to, I have a high-power air rifle (22 caliber) that could take down small game.

Happy two for Tuesday Nor Cal. Did anyone feel the earthquakes? I didn't, but saw a headline stating there were three in the SF Bay area.

I didn't feel a thing. The radio announcer said that there was an earthquake. I was busy having dinner at breakfast time. The kind of meal where I can easily keep working into the afternoon before I feel hungry again. The kind of meal that is good if I start day drinking.

Interesting, three earthquakes reported in the SF Bay area and you didn't feel them. Where you up in the Learjet at the time?
