I know theres a lot of data out there on how to replace a starter, from what I see from other people and even from my Haynes manual, it seems like a pretty simple and standard process. Issue I am having is I was unaware that I need to Crimp and heatshrink a connector to something. I went under the truck and took a few pictures of what I am looking at, I am not sure where I should try to disconnect this connection here, it seems like its glued together ; I may just be looking at this incorrectly, but I am not sure where to start with this starter replacement.
Any advice is appreciated, pictures below

So that starter is not the original starter as that wiring is not factory Ford. Just cut the existing wire before the crimp connector, strip the wire a bit and then crimp the new one on. Use a heat gun to heat-shrink it but if you don't have one, it is not strictly necessary to do that IMO.

When I strip that black wire, do I need to attach some connector to it before connecting it to the new starter wire? Or just crimp it?
Looks like the new starter lead has a crimp connector and heat shrink already on there - just cut your old wire, strip it, crimp it down good with the proper tool and slide the heat shrink over and heat it up with a butane torch or heat gun
Here's a link to a video showing details of crimping electrical connectors. I also use an antioxidant on the bare wire before I slide the wire into the connector.
