Hello everyone, greetings from Spain!
I own a 1987 Ford F-250 (most probably the only one in the whole Spain) with a 6.9 IDI Diesel engine. I have problems with the dual mass flywheel and I need a new one. The reference in the dual mass flywheel that I have, says "E7TA-6477-AB" whereas the ones I find to buy in Rockautoshop are with reference "E7TA-6477-AA". Does anyone know if it's the same or does the last letter indicate any difference? It's quite difficult for me to find this out from Spain without seeing it or speaking to a mechanic in person. What is your advice? Many thanks!
welcome to FTE.
first thing i would do is convert from the dual mass to a standard clutch kit like the luk clutch kit.
the complete kit including flywheel is under $400, unlike the $800 or so just for the DM flywheel

Thank you for the advice! My Ford is manual transmission. Do you think I will have vibration problems or that I will lose touch in the clutch with the kit option? Would you recommend me any kit in particular? .thanks again.
the only thing people that use the Luk clutch tend to report is gear rollover noise with the ZF-5 speed. but adding an extra quart of trans fluid tends to quiet it down.
with your 4 speed trans i don't think there will be any issues as they use gear oil instead of the ATF the 5 speed uses.
never heard of that brand. but that does not mean it will not work.
here in the states the preferred brands are Luk, and South Bend.
most use the Luk kit because it is half the price of the South Bend kit
I found also this one LUK in Rock Auto: reference 07225. It does not specify vehicle but I understood reading from another thread on similar topic, that this one works with 6.9 engine. What are your thoughts on this one?
07 225 comes back as for the 7.3 engine.
luk shows the 07-076 for the 6.9. i do not know what the difference is between the two. ..maybe clutch disc size?
Thanks 🙏🙏.I Appreciate your help.
If you don't mind I have another question , are the 6.9 and 7.3 torque's specs the same?I can only find them as in this picture.
