My driver side blinker flashes quickly like the bulb is blown but it isn't. This happens when I don't have a trailer plugged in. It only started to happen when i put an old-new bed on it.
Now when I plug a trailer in and turn the left blinker on then both truck tail lights flash, but that doesn't happen when no trailer is plugged in.
I have an idea. Most likely a loose electrical connection on one of your 24 year old rear light sockets (they seem to fail more often than front turn signals). Your rear turn signals will look pretty much ok, but the lose connection will be slightly reducing the current draw, hence the slow blink without your trailer. I've fixed that issue by identifying the bad connection by pulling the rear lights and snugging up the lose connections using some small ty-wraps.
