If I am following what I find on the Internet, if you unplug the fuel regulator the pump should be putting out full pressure. You may well be correct about needing a new CP3, but I would not have expected it to fail completely all at once.

Thank you for your reply, I did unplug the fuel pressure regulator and it gets absolutely no fuel regardless I'm wondering if the CP3 was going bad on the previous owner and finally died on them, I am looking into finding one, I also have a couple of Duramax CP3s that I'm reading are pretty much the same except for the fuel lines need to possibly be moved or bent a different direction but the fuel pressure regulator might cause an issue

Given that you tried unplugging the regulator, you know as much about your engine (or more) than I do and I do think replacing the CP3 is a logical next step. It would be nice if you didn't have to screw around with moving the lines.

Thank you Steve I greatly appreciate all your help I'm trying to track down a known good used CP3 from a Cummins I could just put in so I don't have to try to move anything, I will post an update thank you so much I appreciate all your time and input it was very helpful
