I have two truck orders in at separate dealers - Been putting off buying a truck for a few years and at the point where I need to get one, can't really wait for a year. So placed a day one MSRP lariat order from a large local dealer, at the top of their orders with plenty of allocation. Nothing ordered that will hold up production, hopefully will be able to get it built fairly quickly.
Then had a second small-town dealer offer me a really good deal to put in an order - better than anything I've seen anywhere else, but the caveat is they have a very small allocation and it's already filled. So after they put that out there with full disclosure on the timing, had them put in an order for a loaded platinum hoping that maybe in a year it'd show up and I can either trade in the lariat or can transfer it to my company as a work rig. Not expecting it to show anytime soon, but ultimately the truck i'd like to end up with.
Today dealer #1 tells me they were notified that anyone with multiple orders will automatically be ignored, and I need to cancel one or will get neither. Anyone know anything about this?

Yeah, just like chevy is doing with C8 Corvettes, trying to cut out the profiteers.
There are several people in the forum that placed 4+ orders just to flip them. They certainly aren't helping anyone else out who just needed 1 truck.
I hope Ford really is doing this. They haven't done a single other thing to help anyone out with getting their truck.
A friend of mine with a construction company ordered three trucks this year from our local Ford dealership. All in his name, not the company. All three trucks were delivered to the dealership.
There are legitimate reasons why one person would need multiple trucks.
Sounds like BS to me.
Or, perhaps the problem is multiple orders from different dealers?

Well all that's what I was wondering. Just need a truck like a lot of people in the construction industry, but had the opportunity come up to order at a great price (and would like to see the smaller local guys get more orders) although it will be awhile since they have no allocation left, longer than I can wait.
Actually told them today if this multiple order thing is for real and they had another customer they could use the spot for, maybe they can sit on my deposit and make it their first 24 order because I'm in no hurry.

You can send me your deposit, I'll hold it for you until the cows come home if you'd like. ;-)

Sometime in the recent past I recall seeing a story on CBS evening news about a Tesla owner who flipped his car for big money after a few months of ownership. Tesla told him to hit the bricks when he tried to order another. GM was also cancelling warranties on cars flipped within 12 months. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/reselli...w-cars-profit/

that will save GM a ton of money cuz their stuff breaks like crap anyway
Seems possible but there are plenty of people that need multiple trucks for business use. Surely we would have heard of this before now if it was true. Tesla and Corvettes are in a total different league than an SD. You don't need either one to operate a business with.
