Delay on 2015 orders?

My dad ordered a 2015 Platinum on January 2nd and we haven't gotten any word on it yet. Is there a delay from the huge amount of orders they got in January? I still can't even track it using his order number. But maybe the site doesn't work with Canadian orders...? The dealer figured it would be here within 2 months. The dealer didn't seem to deal much on the new trucks... Sticker price was $72700 they are paying $66500 for it.

Four factors could be at play here. The first is the priority number the dealer gave to the order, hopefully it was a 10 or not much above that. Second factor is how many truck orders this dealer is allocated. Dealers that sell a lot of trucks get more allocations where dealers that only sell a couple/month are at the end of the line for filling orders…and Ford can only build so many trucks each month. Third factor is that not all of the assembly plants are converted over to build 2015s so wait times are longer than when they're all in operation. Finally, some options have supply issues which puts those orders on hold. At any rate, their dealership should get an update on all orders weekly, so their salesperson ought to be able to tell them something by now.

Looks like its a order priority 19... Hope that doesn't delay things too much. They are a bigger dealer and seem to have quite a few trucks on hand compared to other dealers. They do a lot of fleet sales too so hopefully they are allocated a lot. Guess we will check back with our sales person. Maybe they will have some kind of response.

Looks like it will be made the first week of March and delivered near the end of March. Wow quite the delay on them. 3 months to build and almost 4 from the time you order to the time too get it.

Must be kinda common, I ordered in August when order sheets first came out & my delivery to dealer is supposed to be by March 11.

19 is always going to be the priority for a standard order. Allocation will play a factor, but the priority number is just based on the type of order it is. There isn't the $10k off of these trucks many people are used to, so don't think the dealer was playing it tight, its just the discount isn't as big and the rebate isn't there. While the growing cost is a concern for all vehicles, getting smaller rebates is good for new car owners as it will help hold value better (and make them better lease candidates). When I order a vehicle for a customer I say 8-10 weeks. It can be shorter, but it can be longer too. No delays in production or shipping that I've seen on these trucks.

As a family, we've purchased nine new Ford vehicles from our dealership and they've assigned a 10 priority to all of the three trucks I've ordered. Since they sell more trucks than cars and are allotted decent truck order numbers, they could have assigned it a higher priority--but they didn't, and I didn't have to wait too long either.

Default order priority is 19. Dealer can assign anywhere between 10-19 for vehicles ordered. But this only affects it's spot within that specific dealership and that specific model line of the dealership. The advantage of changing priority is rare except for the largest of dealerships. It's simply an irrelevant figure to the customer without a whole lot more information, so it's deceptive to say that it should be this number or that number. If every order was made to feel special and given a 10 it would be no different than everyone having a 19. So again, don't even factor the priority code into the equation because it's highly unlikely you (or your salesman) has access to the rest of the figures to make it helpful.

Advocate, I hope your truck comes in soon, I ordered an F450 Platinum on November 17.... I believe it is a priority code 11. there is a different Ford dealer that I have ordered from before that does much more volume and always received within 6 weeks or so. I still do not have my 2015 truck and I am become very frustrated. The saleswoman at the dealership has had zero communication with me, every 4 or 5 weeks I send an email asking for an update. after several days I get a feeble response. Tomorrow I will be in contact with the GM at the dealership. This is over 4 months, and if Ford has not had appreciable delays I have to blame the dealer. It is a small local dealer. I ordered from them as I wanted to use them for all my service and warranty work.
