Fluid change question

I’m replacing clutch in 1989 f250 with 5 speed and 5.8 engine. I would like to change fluid in transmission and transfer case and my question is ( with the newer synthetics out there) what should i put back in the transfer case and transmission ?? Thanks

Redline D4 for the trans is what I use. I ran it on a 500mi break in on that 'Universal ATF' from Autozone, worked fine. It is supposedly to take the place of Mercon/Dexron but who knows its exact formulation.

Unsure what the transfer case specs, cannot help you there.

Just go to Walmart and get the stuff marked "ATF".
