Transfer Case Fluid Change??

Hey folks, I'm changing the fluid (2 qts Mobil 1 syn.) in my transfer case and when I pulled the fill plug fluid came out of the hole. I don't know how much maybe 1/2 quart? I drove the truck for a little to warm the fluid switching from 4x4 to 2x4 a couple of times.

Is this normal??

Someone probably filled it truck facing downhill or you might not be checking it on level ground. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

I bet it was dirty, mine was when I changed it at 90,000. A little overdue but it got done.

I should change mine too,I'm at 93000.I think I'll use regular trans fluid drive it for a couple hundred mile then switch to syn.

It was nasty

How often should the T-case fluid be changed? I know I was way past the actual point of what it should be

but it still worked great.
