Find that block yet? Check this link out and see what this fellow is doing with a regular old 95 f150 331 with boost, rebuilt tranny and stock rear. Might make you reconsider the stroker 302 w/t forced induction or nitrous oxide hmmm, what about a forced iduction or nitrous assisted 351w. let me know what you think, later
I'm definitely going with N/A 418. I may 'someday' try spray and build the bottem end to handle it but not really planning on using it.
I don't trust anyone else to build my motor. The current motor was a fresh rebuild when I bought the truck 10 years ago, now I need to build another. I think the quality of the parts that were used was to blame but from now on I'm not taking any chances, on parts or assembly quality.
Originally posted by TorqueKing don't worry about a cage, you won't need one. You have to run an 11.99 or quicker to require a roll cage as per NHRA rules, and your truck won't go that quick nomatter how much motor you put in it. You need a light vehicle with very low gears to eclipse that mark.
By the way, there was some interesting posting going on about the street spool issue. Many people are currently running a full spool in their 9" on the street with great success. The mini spools are the ones that grenade the differential, but a full spool is nearly as streetable as an open differential, and will never give any problems in the eyes of some. I've never run a spool, but it's an interesting point, and it's impossible to argue against somebody who's been doing it for years with no disasters.
guess he hasn't seen the video of the suped up f-350 running an 11.42 at 118 mph.
Yeah, that was seriously interesting. I wonder what he did to that thing. Of course you realize such things are acheivable, but by no means practical. It sure made that RX-7 look stupid!
I was unable to view that link. This is all I received.
