I mounted mine just below the instrument cluster on the left side on the steering wheel.
It was pretty easy to cut the plastic in behind with a utility knife, for the exposed dash side I was a little more precise with some well placed drill holes in the corners and a nice thin saw blade. Then a file to finish it off.
Put mine just to the right of the 4x4 switch. I have also seen them to the left of the switch, similar to yours but on the opposite side of the column surround.
As long as you can see and access it wile driving, it's all good.
I was thinking of putting it to the left of the steering wheel, and I also considered putting it where the 4x4 switch goes. I don't have that 4x4 switch, so I think the dash looks kind of clean with that spot empty. If the 4x4 switch was there it wouldn't make a difference but considering mine is untouched right there, I feel like it would look better plain. Probably going to put it right next to the steering wheel underneath the gauge cluster just like F350towing has. Not sure. Was just hoping for pics so I could decide
Also, where will I run all my wires through the firewall on the stick shift trucks? For the automatic drugs they just run it through the master cylinder grommet. Will I have to make a new hole with new grommet?

I drilled a hole and ran mine through an oblong plastic plug on the drivers side firewall. You can’t see it in this photo but it’s in the general area of the red circle.

Yep, I wish they put this info in the instructions. I finally learned it from Bill at PHP but not before adding a sheet of tint over my pillar mount controller. The thing was way too bright at night.
Don't cut any plastic that requires removal of the entire dash to replace. Guess how I figured that out.
Luckily, since my atato head unit is mounted in the dash I can remove the sub dash easily within 5 minutes, and I will Mount the Hydra flush mount billet piece with the sub dash out of the truck so it will be easy to get to.

Where did you buy the plastic plug? I'm sure a rubber plug would work just as good. Auto parts? My games are going to be here tomorrow so, I might tackle that job tomorrow afternoon after work if I can.
