I haven't jumped into using IDS (yet), but encountered an issue with some test gear for aviation that runs on Windows based computers. After a Windows update, the program(s) either ran weird, not at all, or part of the displayed screen (you know the one that has the click to continue or that's as far as you go!) is cut off.
Here is what worked for us:
Right-click the shortcut used to launch.
Click on Properties. Should be the option at the bottom of the list.
Click on the Compatibility tab in the properties window.
Check the box next to "Run this Program in compatibility mode for:"
After you check that box, you can use the drop down to select Windows versions all the way back to Windows95!
Thought of the folks on here that have complained about how IDS behaves after a Windows update or version change. Hope it helps.
