I went with 7AD/1AE new Alliant injectors. Installed them today, got a few test drives in and so far so good. Not a huge difference in seat of pants feel from the AB (wasn't expecting much), but a little more scoot and quieter.
Got new UVCH, gaskets, glow plugs too. Truck is back!
That is great news Kintla and we thank you for updating us and the thread.
Your selection may not always be the most popular or right for every application, but in my humble opinion it has been proven to be the most reliable based on millions of miles from 100's of thousands of trucks.
glad to hear you fixed the wiring issues and are back on the road with new split shot injectors. i have an e99 myself and i went down the rabbit hole with a number of mods. was it worth it? cannot say no or yes but now that i finally bought 8 good injectors from bitterroot ( to replace the bad full force diesel remanned) it finally runs better then it has in a number of years! when the truck was bone stock ( aside from exhaust and intake) i added the fuel rail crossover frx https://www.riffraffdiesel.com/fuel-rail-crossover-frx/ . couldn't tell any difference in sound, throttle response or power from it but i don't see where it can hurt especially with the #8 cyl running ab's. always had a funny 50 rpm stumble at idle and it was a consistent stumble that grew to a 75 rpm stumble, watching the scanner. never figured out what that was and it was in stock mode or in one of jodys ( dp tuner ) tunes. i ran his 80hp tow tune and that worked best on cooler, lower wind days otherwise 40hp tow tune based on egt's. the stock split shot injectors were def quieter, smoother then the single shots and do not rely on custom tunes. kc did not offer a drop in turbo back then or i would've gone that rt vs a t4 conversion. the swap to the adrenaline hpop was at the same time of the 205/30 inj's, sxe turbo, t4 kit etc etc so i cannot say what diff that made but if were to start over ........ i think i would swap out to one of kc's drop in turbo's as the stock e99 ran out of lung on what i call top end ( 75 mph on 3.73 gears) while towing up decent grades. egts would climb to 1300* pretty quick at or over 25 psi ( never made more then 29 psi gauge pressure) pulling grades towing a 34' fifthweel toyhauler camper. based on several posts i have read, that is where i would start if i had it to do over again. then on to an adrenaline or cnc fab hpop, fuel cross over frx, intake and exh and stick with canned tunes on stock inj's. or atleast i would like to try that combo vs the more expensive and time consuming route i went. i am happy with the current combo i run now, i am able to tow a 7500 lb bumper hitch toyhauler camper 18 hrs round trip, across some decent grades in wind, all while in stock mode! that's not a true stock mode as custom tunes are required to run the truck with single shot inj's. never exceeded 1200* egts and even then just for a few seconds climbing a hill, never exceeded 24 psi boost ( guage pressure) on any part of that trip. still i cannot say if it was actually worth all the time and money for a truck that is just used to tow a toyhauler camper. costly mistake buying 8 remanned inj's from full force and i installed an sxe 366 turbo. based on some info on this forum from others with a zf6 trans, towing campers, i swapped out to an sxe363 turbo and that was def a great change.
If so,did someone recommend to use that size turbo?
i understand, as we age small type gets very difficult to read.
yes, and yes. local shop as well as two people i know. they were running them with auto trans towing toyhaulers. as mine is a zf6 it looses more boost during a shift so the sxe366 wasnt a good fit. now one does need to keep in mind that the 2 plus years i ran that turbo, i did not know that 4 of the ffd injectors were
weak/bad .
several revision tunes trying to clean up an idle issue that wound up being bad remanned injectors. i am stating this as i cannot give a clear and concise review based on that info. the sxe363 does spool lower in the rpm band hands down and egts remained the same. the 366 shined over 2k rpm , instant response!
Just to be clear for future readers, dsrace is talking about 2 turbos with different sized turbines. I mention this because while the 366 only comes in the large turbine variety, the 363 is available in both large & small configurations. Turbine size has a more drastic effect on spooling than just dropping 366–>363 with same turbine.
This comparison is between the 366/73 and a 363/68.

correct, i was replying on my phone and didn't add that info. in my case the 363 small turbine wtih .91 ex housing, dropped the spool up rpm from 1800 to 1500 rpm. still seems great at the high rpm end of my driving style with a 10,500 lb camper.
