Hello I have a 27 ft. size RV bumper pull camper { bumper Reinforced } and want to hook my 5 by 8 open trailer behind it. Both have LED tail lights, My question is can i use both RV and trailer plugs at the same time. Round 7 pin RV and the flat 4 trailer output. I know i will have to modify the covers to allow Both plugs at the same time. 2017 F 250 Lariat 6.2 gas. Thanks
In some states (I dunno which ... heck, could be all of 'em), in order to lawfully tow 2 trailers simultaneously, one of them must be towed via 5th wheel.
Might be easier to just splice in a flat 4 into the back of the RV trailer. Get rid of the hassle of running a 27 ft extension to the bumper of your truck for the 5x8 trailer.

This is what I'm planning to do. My buddy has a fifth wheel trailer and it has a hitch rated to pull my empty ATV trailer. We're going to tap into the wires at the back of his trailer to get turn signal and brake lights to my ATV trailer.
On my 2017 F-350, I no longer have a separate flat 4 connector at the bumper. That got replaced by the 12 pin outlet for the camera/TPMS.

That was my thought. But I've been seeing more and more of it in Kansas. Nothing going to stop the weekend warriors from getting all the toys to the lake in one trip.

First, check your state laws. Several (possibly many) states do NOT allow a travel trailer camper (which, at 27 ft I hope you're pulling with a minimum Class IV receiver and a WDH, with sway control) to have another trailer behind it. If you live in a state where it's not legal, you don't have the option you're looking at. It's not legal in my state, but behind a fifth wheel it is.
Second, if it IS legal in your state, see if you need any special endorsements on your license to do it. My state supposedly requires a special endorsement but from what I understand it's not heavily enforced.
Third, (again if it's legal) check how much this combo will weigh. You want to stay under your GCVWR, and under your tow rating. I would also heavily suggest that if you AREN'T pulling with a minimum Class IV receiver and a WDH/sway control, that you invest in one, and a damned good one. You're adding length and another point where things can turn, and if that back trailer starts swaying and you DON'T have sway control, you're going to be in an accident in short order.
Now, that we've gotten past that (I'm not sorry, I am a big fan of doing things safely and correctly)...I think the only way you'd even be able to plug something into both plugs at the same time would be to take one or both doors off the plug, otherwise you'll be putting a LOT of side pressure on the plugs/wires and could lead to bad connections. You won't want to remove the 7-way round cover either, because it has an integrated clip that keeps the 7-way round engaged.
The better suggestion is what was presented above - tap into the wires for the rear tail lights on the camper. The circuits in the truck and camper are more than capable of handling a few more bulbs, LED or conventional. I believe there are even harnesses readily available (and fairly cheap) to do this.
