im taking a break from getting this finished. ive got all 4 injectors in on the driver bank. so far not a big deal. i did find what looked like a bunch of oring material in the screen for the number 8 injector. i had several with orings i know i wouldnt have expected to hold any kind of pressure at work. they looked like theyd been jetted or something. chewed up like rust pitting on them. there were pieces of oring that came off with every one. apparently someones been in there after the ford dealer, they all had a reman date in 2012 as well as the ficm. its got me a little stumped as to why all the orings were at least a little tore up. i oiled them all on reinstall and blew out the holes for the hold down bolts and the injectors. nothing was left in the bore that i could see. i will say that those plugs going through the heads were a betch to get to seat.
I do hope that you have some sort of bore brush set to clean the injector bore in the head.
This is what the brush set looks like. You should be able to get away with something that fits.
I have included one of the injector cups in the photos, so you have an idea on the size.
You use 303-D111 first and then 303-D112 to brush any crud off of the cup face and sweep
out the remains from the bore. The set I have are from Rotunda. They were running about $100
at the time and I was doing enough of them to justify the expense. If you don't get the bore clean
then you run the risk of not getting a good seal. Most times things work out okay. I think the time
you really want to brush it any extra is when you burn up the copper seal and cook the O-rings.
Then you have a mess to clean up.

the injector bores were clean. if the orings were good for it i wouldnt have had an issue testing them to 15k lbs. if i had needed them i would have figured out something, but in my line of work we order orings 10,000 at a time so i feel fairly confident in my assessment, but well see how it works out.
i had the truck running after but i had a small booboo with one of the injector plugs and then one of the retainer rings, so ill have to wait until tomorow to give it a good run.
