As said if its in the pan, especially on the bottom and not on the baffle I wouldnt worry at all. But if it is the the gears and gets ground to pulp, well, that could be major suckyness.
A few of us have purchased the endoscope in the link, or ones similar to it. I used it and it saved me ~4 hours worth of work as I was able to see around a corner and underneath some metal, which without the scope would be impossible. You could use something like this and look up into the oil pan for the washer, just to be sure.
If you find it in the pan, don't bang your head as you shout "OH YA BABY!"
Conventional wisdom was a washer left down in the oil pan when installing a new oil flange adapter was no problem. Many people did that. But I think it was @PriusLover who had a washer end up in a bad place, getting ground up by the crank. Pure bad luck. Thought I had a pic of it but cannot find it atm.
So I got it all put back together today pump new oil thru the hpop lines to make sure they had no air filled everything up cranked first time for 25 seconds...waited a few minutes and tried again at about the 12 second mark of second crank fired right up. drove up the road and then to the parts store to return some unused items.. ran great. started it twice more before cleaning some things up....JUst have to hope the washer stays low...and hopefully I have my original oil leak stopped...Thanks for all the tips and suggestions...appreciate you guys
