Just reread my second letter and it does say “if you have experienced unintended tailgate opening……”
so I stand corrected.
I am gonna wait till the reports come in on what they are actually doing for this.
If I decide to have it done, I will of had unintended tailgate opening.
I tow a 5th wheel that would be damaged severely if this happens when I am towing.

Like the frozen door locks, sustained steering wheel oscillation (steering stabilizer), and others, the repairs would be completed if the customer experienced the concern.
It looks like the second letter might be arriving today. I'll be interested to see the difference in wording.
I have not yet had issue with this, and hope I never do. Especially while towing. Having read on this site that this is a potential problem for some owners, and we all know how difficult it is to get parts, I decided to be proactive and attach these straps when I tow

Do you mind sharing what parts you bought and where you got them. I would definitely like to do that while pulling my 5'er
If it's ajar, is there a battery leak? I was house sitting for a friend who said I could use his 2019 F-150 HD if I needed as my wife works a lot. I drove it 10 miles to a Bible Study and after a couple hours it wouldn't start. A friend gave me a jump but I also noticed the tailgate ajar. It only appeared closed because the bed cover held it from falling open. I closed it, got the jump, and drove home. 20 minutes later I went out and it started.
So I'm wondering if there is some interlock switch or something draining the battery if the tailgate isn't fully closed?
I have a 2022 CCSB Lariat Ultimate. I’ve only seen that message twice, and only when I didn’t intend on having the tailgate open. If I open it from outside, inside button or fob truck on or off I do not see the message.
