New tailgate recall?

I vaguely remember seeing one a couple years ago.

One just hit my 19 F450 via the Ford app: 19S48, Unintended tailgate opening.

My dealer is saying is a pending recall and a fix and parts aren’t available yet, should be by year’s end.

Is this the same one I’m vaguely remembering from previous model years?

Got it on mine as well, but it's not a recall, it's a Field service action, which usually means if you don't complain or your tailgate doesn't open by itself, it won't get fixed.

It hit my app as a recall.

I’ve not yet seen this on my FordPass app; I’ll keep an eye out.

Thx,

Yep, definitely a recall on mine.

Only field service action I have open is the freezing door handles.

Mine also

Just got the tailgate recall in Ford Pass, although it has never opened by itself.
This makes the 3rd recall for me.
First was passenger side rear axle, 2nd was the "too bright" daytime running lights.

Just got the notice in my Ford Pass app as well. Anyone know what part they are replacing? Just had it in for the update to the running lights brightness now have to take it in for this.

I found the recall this morning on my FordPass app.

I’ll schedule a service at some point, but it’s not a pressing issue for me as we remove the tailgate when carrying the truck camper.

Safe travels, all!
Jim / crewzer

Ford pass Does shoe it as a recall, Owner.ford.com showed it as a FSA, but I can't log into Owner.ford.com this morning to check

My '19 only has the day running lights recall and a TSB for freezing door handles. That being said, my tailgate does open on its own.
