iDash issues...
Test fit before drilling holes.
View from the driver seat.
I did not paint it to match the interior trim. I didn't want to try to go through finding the exact shade of paint to match, so I just left it the stock black color. It looks good to me so I'll stick with it.
I pretty much left my first screen as it was.
1. Ambient Air Temp. I can't see it displayed when using CarPlay.
2. Regen status. I keep Auto Regen turned off until time to Regen, so I still may change this out...
3. Trans Temp. It's in the trucks dash settings, but I have to scroll to get to it.
4. Battery Voltage. I did change this from the ECU reading to the B-Bus reading.
5. Oil Temp. Same as the trans temp.
6. EGT 1: I like to watch this return back to 400F before shutting the truck off.
7. ECT. Same as trans & oil temps. However, on my 22 the ECT2 does not appear in the iDash...
8. EGT4. Watching the temps between EGT1 and EGT4 for reference.
The second screen is for when I turn my Auto Regen back on and monitor the regen status, which is when my trucks display reads anywhere between 90 - 100%. My truck consistently reaches 100% around 575 or more miles, so by the time I hit 90% I am already at the 500 mile trigger mark, which allows me to enable an active regen even at 90%. For the most part I have left this screen the same, however, I got tires of watching both, the DPFRG and the DPFSL, so I removed those. I also got rid of the DPFDIS since it really doesn't make a difference.
1. Regen status: It lets me know when the regen completes.
2 & 3. EGR 1 & 2. These are new. I have never monitored them before, but I figure I can compare them to the EGT temps, all in one place.
3 - 7. EGT 1 - 4 temps. I like to watch these and make sure they all fall back to within normal ranges before shutting the truck off after a regen.
Screen 3 has been changed. This has become my fuel & DEF monitoring screen:
1. Fuel level as a percentage.
2. DEF level as a percentage.
3. Fuel Pressure Control Valve. This one is new... Not really sure what it represents, but I plan to try and figure it out...
4. DEFCON. I've never kept up the the DEF concentration, but why not!
5. FVOL. Fuel Volume control valve. Another new one that I am trying to figure out...
6. DEF_T. I like that I can monitor the temp of the DEF fluid.
7. FRPCMD.
8. FRP.
*** I am comparing the FRPCMD to the FRP to see a commanded vs actual FRP's...***
Screen 4 has a few new ones also... but some of my old screen 3 readings.
1. BOOST. I added this to kind of compare to some of the other pressures on this screen.
2. PR ALT. I am wondering how accurate this is. I know that it reads 660 at my home, which is about 70 feet off...
3. IAT/1. This is the same reading as the ambient air temp and is the temp coming into the truck.
4. AAP. I may change this to the ambient air pressure in inHg.
5. CAC/1. This reading is coming from the CAC pipe immediately after the intercooler. I like to compare it to the IAT/1 reading.
6. MAP. Manifold Absolute Pressure. I am comparing this to the Exhaust back pressure.
7. MAT. This should represent the temps after the turbo, mixed with the EGR.
8. EXH P1. The back pressure. I like to compare it to the MAP.
And finally, screen 5. I have kept the last active screen for my Pedal Monster. However, this time, I used the Pedal Monster Combo screen...
1. RPM. Just a number rather than a needle...
2. Torque%. This is supposed to represent the actual torque %... just something I am trying out...
3. HP-ECU. I assume this is the actual HP...
Anyway, there are several new readings I am monitoring here, but I am excited to watch them and see what they do over time.
