Hi all. 205kmi, 2005 EX. Last weekend we had a trip across two states and back (1200 miles). On the way back, "engine" started to sound like power steering pump was not getting enough fluid and making a "groaning" sound. PS reservoir was at proper levels. An hour or so later, check engine light came on and threw a P0470 Exhaust Pressure Sensor code. Looking at the data, it seemed like the EBP was a little higher than normal (using Torque to view while in motion). I think it was 30psi, while boost was hovering around 8-9psi, all while at 72mph on cruise control.
KOEO the delta between the baro pressure and the Ex Pressure sensor was 0.2 to 0.3 psi. What is normal / allowable?
We pulled the EPS and the tube to the exhaust manifold. Wow, it was clean. No seriously, no gunk in it at all. Could of used it for a drinking straw. ; -)
Put it all back together, and it also throws P0069 BARO/MAP. Earlier this year had the map sensor connector replaced and new MAP sensor as well. That part of the harness still seems good.
Where to check next? Instruction set on where to buzz out signals / voltages to determine where its gone bad?
I second checking wiring. I was getting EBP codes, replaced the sensor which fixed the codes but the reading was still pretty wonky (bounced around a lot). Found an aftermarket pigtail to the sensor that wasn't installed very well, jiggled the wiring and the readings went steady. Replaced the pigtail and all is good.
