i keep throwing the p0470 code. i have pulled the sensor and tube, cleaned them , and the code keeps coming back. so i guess it's time for a new sensor.
also with koeo, the barometer reads 14.5, map sensor reads 14.6, and the exhaust back pressure sensor read 23.16. should these sensors read almost the same atmospheric pressure with the engin off?
i know this sensor controls the ebpv.
does this sensor also defuel the engine if it sees too much backpressure?
If so, at what pressure does it begin to defuel?
I have never looked at the EBPS with the key off but it should read 0. the baro and map should be within 0.2 of each other
The EBPS wont cause defueling that is done by the MAP. The pcm looks at the EBPS to decide when to open the EBPV when the "Warm up Mode" is in effect.
The MAP sends the pressure reading in the intake manifold to the pcm, the pcm calculates manifold gauge pressure (MAP - BARO) and defuels at 24psi of boost (Manifold Gauge Pressure)
Edit: If your EBPS is reading 23.6 with KOEO and it is not clogged its time for a new one
