My 2019 4wd has never broke 20 MPG on a tank of fuel. Not once, and thats unloaded. 18.x mpg is about as good as it gets per tank (hand calced) when driving all highway. This thread(and others) show the 10 speed does seem to help, but also we can see here how much better 2wd does compared to 4wd.

I think this is key. I’m at 200ish miles on this tank of fuel now. Mostly driving 55-58 mph on 2 lane highway (with lots of hills) but just drove 30 miles down I80 at 70 mph. Some city driving too… I was at 20.2 when I pulled off the interstate, however after driving through some parking lots I’m at 20.1. I’m really curious to see if I actually break 20mpg at the next fill up (hand calculated, of course).

2WD trucks have a lower MSRP, less weight, less driveline drag, less maintenance and they sit lower for less wind drag.
I don't go offroad, other than some gravel lots, so no need for 4WD.
My truck is a highway tow rig.
To be able to get this fuel economy AND the awesome towing power, is simply great!
