Anyone know if the 2023 SDs will have Sync4 again or the Android OS?
Unless theres a sync engineer on this forum, no one knows. since super dutys get everything last, id say it will be sync4. the 23 lightning is supposed to be the first vehicle with andrioid. ford has stated you wont be able to upgrade sync 4 to android but so far theyve said that about every system and its been done. MFT to sync3 and now people are putting sync4 in sync3 trucks.
Haha, I couldn't help it. I'm betting it will be Sync again, but like you mentioned above, no one knows... and my assumption (like every one else's) is based off of no actual knowledge... just a draw from the hat! I also assume it will be several more months before anyone finds out too...

now I will admit its still possible, the 23 lighting production begins 10/10 and it will have android apparently. if super duty order bank opens 10/17 and production begins in 01/23 like predicted it could possibly make its way onto the super duty. if not the 24 super duty will for sure have it.
I guarantee that it will be some SYNC version, SYNC is Ford, Android is not, and since SYNC4 isn't that old, it will most likely be that.
Now, it will very likely be updated, as SYNC almost always is to some extent from one year model to the next, but don't look for anything revolutionary.
Thanks. My concern is how much effort/upgrades over time will they put into keeping SYNC4 current over the coming years if they go to Android in '24. Worried that Ford will hang it out to dry and let it rot with few updates over time. I know the CEO specifically said they want to get out of maintaining SYNC and let a third party handle the Android OS.
