After reading about a few stolen trucks I went out and put my hydra in NS. When I wanted to use it again it took me 10 minutes to get it out of NS. I almost got out my tools to pull the hydra. I cleaned contacts, check the ribbon cable for pinches etc. I talked to Justin at PowerHungry and he said to send it in. I sent it in and he called and said I needed a new chip. You guys I'm sure knew what went thru my head but I told him to do it. I also got a new ribbon cable and switch box. Justin said it worked perfect on his bench. He also checked all my tunes and he said they all were good, not corrupted. I put it all back in and guess what, same old crap. I couldn't believe it!! So I'm thinking its my PCM so I put my spare in, same thing!! I don't know what I'm going to do but I did manage to get it in my favorite tune so for now I just stuck the chip in without the ribbon and switch box and it seems to be on my favorite tune when I drove it. I'm at a lose what to do.
What do you mean it took ten minutes? Like you push the button and it wont switch tunes on the indicator at all?
Are you cycling the key after you switch to or from no start~ switch from no start to your desired tune, let it blink, cycle key off, then cycle back on and start?

Yes, I was just pushing the button like I always have. I didn't know you had to cycle the key before and after a NS position. I've had this hydra for seven or eight years and have never used NS. I'll give this a try, thanks. I wonder why Justing at powerhungry didn't mention that even after I communicated with him several times.
I believe it needs that key cycle, just like switching to or from the 00 bypass mode
You would be correct...except unfortunately these will switch FROM bypass "00" to a tune without a key cycle.
Switch to "nS" while running or with key on. Wait for digits to flash. Chip will remain in last-selected tune until the key is turned off.
Upon restarting (or attempting to), chip will be in "nS" if the switch is plugged-in or not.
To get out of "nS", install the switch (if it was removed), turn the key on, and select any position. The digits will blink after a second or so. Turn the key back off. Wait a second. After that, turn the ignition switch to on and then start the vehicle.
Yes, good info and I tried it and it works. I always just started the truck and selected the tune I wanted on the fly. I think I got took for a ride by PHP. The reason is because I explained to him that I never had used nS before so he should have explained this procedure to me, IMHO.
It is unfortunate that Justin did not ask if you key cycled. Unfortunately, he likely doesnt have a 7.3 or run a hydra chip, so, not having hands on familiarity with it, he likely overlooked simple diagnostic question that SHOULD ALWAYS BE ASKED by them when someone is having issues with their product.
So far my experience with their customer service is, I called asking about getting modified vb tunes for the titan unlock and was told nope, I will have to get custom tuning somewhere else. (Because uploading tuning to their server with stock line pressures is soooooo hard)
I also called and spoke with Justin, very clearly and specifically stated that a certain base file for tunes wasnt playing nice on my truck, asked what other file, besides the one I stated he would recommend for my pcm calibration, his only answer was the calibration I stated wasnt working well. Which is obviously not an answer at all.
It seems apparent that their mindset has moved into new projects and that they do not seem interested in thinking much about hydra service, which is a shame cause it is a good product. It also would be nice to get Bill on the phone and get his service, he is a smart guy, but too busy to get to.
