Hey guys, I’m new to the group. I have a 2012 f250 6.7 with Ezlink set up. Every now and again I will get code U0101 lost comms with TCM. I notice when this happens the truck will shift hard and irregular shifting until I reinstall the stock tune then it’s good for a while. Anyone have this issue. It’s at the transmission shop and they are telling me the torque converter is bad but they haven’t dropped the pan yet and it’s not throwing any other codes.
I don't have answers but will ask for information that'll maybe help others respond.
What is the battery voltage at idle?
How long have you been using this aftermarket calibration on the TCM before the loss of comm DTC issues began, has it always had this sporadic issue or was fine for X number of years/miles?
To confirm, when you flash with the stock calibration, this U DTC still occurs eventually?
I don't see how a failing TC will cause a U DTC, however I could believe a TCM issue, either the module itself failing, wiring or a bad calibration, causing hardware to eventually fail.
Hopefully the shop knows how to diag electronics and wiring before replacing the TCM as a guess.
