I have a 2001 7.3 and code P1211 keeps coming up... It seems to throw it when I am getting on it hard and for more than 10 seconds, I have replaced the ICP sensor along with the pigtail and I didnt see it for a good month but today when this chicken **** was playing games I gave her the juice and checked my codes it came back again. any ideas of what it could be? Im thinking about changing the IPR next but I just dont wanna throw money at it hoping it will fix the problem. I have a older edge tuner but I only keep it at the lower setting to save fuel lol, would that thing be causing the problem perhaps? Thanks in advance
The Edge is probably a contributing factor but there are several others on the list as well. Without some live data and a few tests it's to narrow things down its just another game of part darts. Guess you could try disconnecting the Edge then take her out for a frogging. Might show something, at least get a reminder of how slow stock feels.
When you changed the ICP and pigtail did you use Motorcraft or International from a known reliable source such as in their parts counter, maybe RiffRaff, or Bitterroot? The corner store, Fleebay, or Cramazon are not your friends when it comes to these trucks.
I use all oem parts on that pig so that's not a variable, I've heard some nightmare stories about chinese junk on those trucks. And ill see if anyone at the dealership I work at has a scanner that would read all the parameter's. I've been reading up on the ipr duty cycle and stuff related but what would be acceptable numbers to look for? thanks for the help so far!
Go to the tech section here and read up on Forscan. It will do everything a dealership scan tool can but on an android smart device or windows laptop. No more begging favors. Everything required can be had for as little as $40 maybe, haven't priced OBD2 dongles in a while so could be off.
