00 B2500 2.5L Sensor Placement

On Thermostat Housing on top there are 2 Ports:
1) Is for the Coolant Thermostat Sensor ZZM2-18-707 ( Maybe called Water Temp Sensor)
this sensor actually reads Coolant Temp.
2) Heat Gauge Unit (GY01-18-510 ) Also called the Sending Unit that sends data to computer
Question is which is which? Have to confirm that these are indeed both for Coolant temp & Heat data sending to computer. Can anyone tell which has only two wires? Which has 4 wires? 2 wire for coolant temp and 4 wire for sending unit. (FYI got ripped of by Repair Surge Online Manual)

No reply yet, so will see if I can get things started until a 4banger owner chimes in.. Im not a 4banger guy, so don't have a manual that covers a 2000 2.5 L wiring that may have changed that year.

SO, lets think about this some more. With the engine warmed up, Disconnect the one you think is the sensor for the Dash Temp gauge, (It used to be the Single wire sensor & the 2 wire sensor was for the ECM ), If the dash coolant gauge stops working, thats its electrical connector. If you get a CEL & ECT trouble code, thats the ECT electrical connector.

The one on the top left with grey connector is the temp sending unit for the gauge. The other one is the engine control ECT sensor.

Great! Thank you. After over tightening I cracked the Thermostat Housing. Got a whole new assembly and new motor craft thermostat. Was able to remove and replace without removing radiator fan or anything else. Just the 2 8mm head bolts with a deep socket and 6inch small ratchet extension. Why do they plastic parts for hot engines?
No more waiting to warm up the truck and breathed new life into the pickup & go.
