Coolant temp sensor
I'd like to add a water temp gauge. Can I just splice off the stock sending unit? I don't want to disconnect it entirely or I'll get that annoying "check gauges" warning constantly.

You have to identify what engine you have.

Most of the recent engines don't have coolant sensors.
