Are there direct swap manual locking hubs out there for these trucks? I dislike the IWE system and its inevitable vacuum issues. I much prefer a stick-on-the-floor manual t-case too but oh well.

I realize they can go south, but I don't think it's inevitable ... or even common. If ever it develops that one of mine starts loosing vacuum ... I'll pull and plug the lines from dirt and leave them fully engaged with no vacuum pulling on them until I can fix the thing leaking. Be sort of like leaving the hubs lock on my old truck.
Dorman makes drive pucks, but just yanking the vacuum lines at the knuckles has the same effect.
You can also install a vacuum switch in the cab and route the lines from the solenoid on the firewall instead to your switch, then YOU have manual control over vacuum. This would allow 2-lo for maneuvering trailers, etc.
My '07 XL has a manual t-case, I absolutely love it. Ford did an excellent job with the throw on the linkages, too - small, positive movements of the lever is all it takes to shift (unlike my '19 Wrangler which is comically pathetic)
