Is it a big job, or even worth it?

Not worth it at all. Too many folks converting from the ESOF set up back to manual hubs. I replaced my hubs last fall with Mile Marker stainless manual hubs.

You'd also need a GEM to control the vacuum solenoid, and the switch in the dash, AND - the GEM won't engage the hubs until the transfer case is engaged, so you'd have to fool it into thinking it was, etc. etc.

Stick with what you have

I agree with the above posts. I converted mine form Auto to manual (WARN). I had vacuum issues that would not allow them to work properly.

I need to replace my stock manual hubs. Which ones are the best? Warn? Mile Marker?

I just had the WARN premiums installed last spring and they are great. My local 4X4 shop installed them for $50 because I bought from them. I did price shop and all the prices I found were the same so for $50 I said go for it.

I did the Warns, can't speak to the Mile Markers.

Check out our sponsors.

I personally don't have either of these, but if I were in the market, either would work. I've only heard good things about both.

I have the Mile Marker stainless hubs and they worked beautifully here in NW this past winter, and it was a brutal winter.....
Install them yourself...it only takes 5 minutes a side...
