look at post 22 in that link. It was upgrading the tires that kicked it up to 11,500.
Thanks. Didn’t read far enough. Ford is confusing with their gvw, my ccsb 7.3 on order was a 11,100 until I upgraded to the AT tire which bumped it to 11,300. Is it the long bed that gives the higher gvw? Long bed would have a higher curb weight so it can have a higher gvw?? Seems like it would a lot less headache to just have 1 gvw per cab/bed configuration. They obviously didn’t ask my opinion lol
This thread makes me wish i just opted for the F-350 lol
Telling ya, once you change the tpms on the srw its got the same capacity as a 250. No way these people need to run around with 80psi.
Unless its only real use is to tow/haul but needs to fit in a tight space the 350 srw is kinda odd ball to me.
On a side note a drw isnt that bad to get around in. I had to get this one as I needed a truck. About to lower the rear tpms to 40 and will still have more than enough capacity.

The 350 takes mods to get it riding decent.
Its funny how people have different ideas/conclusions about different models. Me personally, I think a 250, especially a diesel, is an oddball truck. Unless your state charges way more for a 350, I think it’s a no brainer. More “rated” capacity.
My tires are aired down, but I can put them back to 80 to get full capacity. Not starting a weight police, sticker debate, etc. Just wanted to throw my reasoning around for a 350.
I enjoy reading everyone’s differing opinions and uses to justify their purchase. 👍

Had little trouble motoring around town in our 2020 DRW long bed (22' long). One of the Canes drive thru;s was a little on the tight side between the order board and the pay window. Left tail fender cleared the post by a few inches. In parking lots, depended on how they striped the lot. I could fit it all between the lines if they were the most common spacing. Only real issues were straight in parking between rows. The distance between the rows determined if it was possible. Angle parking was usually no problem. One of the good things about the upgraded tow mirros is that they fold back when you lock up. That gives space to walk by the truck with vehicles on either side.
This thread has gotten a little off topic. I was hoping for some real world example of payload for various models and not as much debate as to what each individual choices were made. As I stated in the OP I have a 250 Lariat Ultimate on recent order but it is basically trimmed out like a King Ranch by this point. I worry that the payload will end up being under 2500lbs, which is a no go. I have considered upping to an F350 an King Ranch trim but will stay with the 7.3 gasser. This would be more truck than I need but it would future proof my needs.
Any good examples of gas powered F250/350 would be helpful, especially if they are King Ranch or at least higher optioned trucks.
Thanks for the previous feedback and discussion. Even if it has gotten off topic it is still interesting.

Is it too late for you to make it a TREMOR? I believe the TREMOR has F350 Suspension. In fact, I know it does.
Doesn't the Tremor package reduce payload? I thought I read that GVWR was reduced which lowers payload.
Nothing beyond the weight of the options. It's not like the Ram equivalent that loses a ton of payload.
If you're not in to the tremor i'd just get a F-350. The cost difference between it and a F-250 is just a few bucks. I can't see a reason not to. Well I guess it depends on your state and if you're registration is higher. It's not here, all the same whether I get a F150 or a F450.
