Do you have the FX4 package then? That payload is higher than I expected for a trimmed out 250… so you’re saying there’s a chance.
It looks like you will have no problem getting "north of 2500lbs and closer to 3000 lbs in a F250". The FX4 package doesn't increase payload capacity, it would actually slightly lower it (less than 100lbs.). So if he does have it, and you don't, you should see maybe an additional 60lbs or so on sticker.
The payload numbers shouldn't be too surprising since you are going gas. 10k GVWR, high trim and diesel is when you get the 2k payload capacity.
I am leaving my F150 for a larger truck because of payload capacity. The truck I currently have on order is an 2022 F250 CCSB Lariat Ultimate 7.3 3.55, and I suppose I am a little concerned that it’s payload capacity may not be as high as I hope.
Does anyone have any actual payload figures for a similar truck that can either put me at ease or force me to change my order?
F150 payload is 1689lbs and I was hoping for north of 2500lbs and closer to 3000 lbs in a F250.
Very similar situation here. I’m leaving a F150 for a F250, due to payload restrictions. My very well optioned F150 Lariat CCSB 4x4 only has 1575 pound of payload. I too am hoping for north of 2500 pounds on the F250. It’s also a very well optioned Lariat CCSB 4x4 with the 7.3 gas engine. I hope to know for sure very soon as it’s in production. I’m encouraged by some of these examples.
Since we’re talking payload, does anyone know what the moonroof takes away from payload? I’ve been trying to find this answer since 2015. I’ve read quite a bit on the subject, both here and other places, but the opinions are all over the place. I’ve seen some estimates as low as 60 pounds, but that seems pretty low with the weight of all that glass versus an aluminum roof. I’ve went as far as trying to find similar optioned trucks with and without a moonroof for comparison, but those are hard to find these days.

I've seen it posted as 64lbs. with that number coming from one of Fords guides.
This is a weight sheet with the 34' trailer and the door car loaded. Unloaded trailer axle weight attached to the truck would be 7380 lbs. 2020 F-350 DRW 7.3L 3.73 gear. Truck was 7520 lbs unloaded, 2 persons, full fuel load - 4080/3440 axles weights.
Do Platinums have an axle upgrade or anything that bumps up GVWR? Moonroof? That is a very promising payload.
No, mine is 3.55 axle which I believe is the Sterling axle, the 4.30 axle is an optional upgrade. The sun roof is also option in the Platinum trim, I did not order that both for additional payload and I don't care for them. I only went with an F-250 because F-350's are more expensive to license in my state.

No FX4, just plain 4x4. I just ordered the skid plates option since I didn't care about the shocks, dash button or sticker that the FX4 had. Saved about $300.

The optional High Capacity Trailer Tow Package includes a Dana rear axle. This option increases the F-250 GVWR from 10,000 to 10,800 lbs, but it’s only available with the optional Diesel engine, so it’s a wash with respect to payload due to the engine weight.
There’s no way to get an F-250 gasser with a GVWR over 10K lbs. Accordingly, virtually every option reduces payload. Specific configuration F-350 SRW 7.3 trucks are available with a GVWR of up to 11,900 lbs.
