That is diesel, not sure how one would get that low with gas. The OP was pretty clear in saying he has a 7.3l on order, but since the title didn't specifically say gas(unfortunately), as it goes on it will likely get muddled up with deisel numbers too.
Very similar situation here. I’m leaving a F150 for a F250, due to payload restrictions. My very well optioned F150 Lariat CCSB 4x4 only has 1575 pound of payload. I too am hoping for north of 2500 pounds on the F250. It’s also a very well optioned Lariat CCSB 4x4 with the 7.3 gas engine. I hope to know for sure very soon as it’s in production. I’m encouraged by some of these examples.
I currently have a lower trim f150 max tow that has just under 1800 lbs payload. The wife is looking at 5th wheels so I built a 250 and a 350 with the same options. I ended up ordering a 350 for the added payload you get with only about $800 difference between the 250 and 350. I don’t have my truck yet but from what I’ve seen on Facebook superduty pages I’m on I’d get payload in the 3k+ range. I ordered the 350 xl ccsb 4x4 fx4 7.3 gas 4.30. We’ll see what it actually comes out to whenever it gets delivered but I’m sure I’ll be happy with it.

Rough idea should be over 4,000#.
My 21 with 11,500 gvwr shows payload 4,419# on the door sticker. Weighed new after picking it at 7,220#, actual payload 4,280#.

What bumps it to 11500gvwr? I thought the F-350 CCSB 7.3l was 11,300.
I was going to say that the long bed will have slightly more payload, but then remembered that is the F350, not the F250. Both are fixed at 10K GVWR on the 250. LB 350 has over 12K GVWR so payload is slightly higher.

Even better thanks! It'll be overkill for my current trailer but hopefully next year we'll pull the trigger on a 5th.
Recently in a Ram 2500 limited diesel w rambox. Payload sticker 1,767! Makes a 7.3L F250 seem quite high.
I had my 250 platinum 6.7 with pretty much every option besides high capacity tow and longbed.
It was right at 2100 payload and hit the magic 10,000gvwr mark.
I did my research on that truck and I am surprised people people get these HD diesel trucks with under 2000 payload. But I did have a 2500 Ram cummins about 10 years ago and never checked the payload, it had no problem towing a 14k conventional pull toy hauler a couple times a year or hauling 3,000lbs of cargo in the bed at work.
I dont understand why people suggest a 350 when his options meet what he needs.
I am in a 350 now because of vehicle shortages and I had to change the shocks and I am trying to find a time to adjust the TPMS to run lower tire pressure. Its not unbearable but before the shock change it was giving me sore kidneys.
