I know that most of you want to disconnect your door warning chime, but I want mine to work. I bought the truck in july and it didn't work then so is it just a module or something or did someone disconnect the wiring? Thanks a ton!!!!
Scott
The door chime on my 1994 F150 works intermittently. If I mess around with the key with the door open (wiggle it around while in the lock position) it will start to work. Maybe try that if you haven't already. As for the cause, I don't know. Perhaps a loose or dirty conection.
you should feel lucky that it doesn't work...lol, It drives me nuts. I just haven't had a chance to disconnect it. Plus winter hit so, I'm in no big hurry now.
My 95 f-150 has an intermittent door chime also. Like most people, I love it when it doesn't work. However, short after purchase I had a problem with it not working and the plunger switch on the door was sticking in. Hope this helps.
On my 94 F150 the buzzer is directly to the right of the steering colum under the dashboard. it is a white box about 3X1X1/2 inches. When I bought my truck that was the first thing I unhooked. So look there and see if it is connected.
I just bought a used 94 F150. When I open the drivers door, the door chimes go off, even without the key in the ignition. Is this normal, or should the door chimes only ring when the door is open with the key in the ignition

If you mess with your ignition switch it will probably go off. Or you could just remove it because it's annoying in the first place. Especially if you have the XL, that buzz could drive anyone insane.
Actually if you have a higer trim package (XLT or higher, however my XL E150 has it) there is a "reminder package" it sounds the chime when the lights are left on, the vehicle is off and the door is opened. If you are having trouble with it not working or working intermittently then it's probably the tumbler. (the piece the key goes into).
