difference n 1952 front fender from F-1 and F-2

Seeking verification that the 1952 F-1 front fender will only fit the F-1.
That fenders from F-2 on up are different.
What are differences.
Thanks.

They interchange.

But they are different.
The easiest tell for me is looking at the wheel opening riding higher than the body line.
You need the matching lower piece as well.

Much larger wheel opening for F2+
Need the upper and lower fender.

A great shot from a member here. F2345 lower on an F1 fender.
Think this one is 48-50, but similar differences.

F1 is unique.
F2 thru F6 are the same.
F7 and F8 are the same.

What's been said is correct. The F1 fenders are physically the same as the F2-6 fenders, but the wheel opening is different. The F2-6 opening is much larger to accommodate the larger spec'd tire than what was used on the F1, and the larger wheel opening really looks goofy on a smaller tired truck.

F2/3

and what happens when the wrong fenders are installed

On the F-1 fender the diagonal joint at the top of the wheel opening is about 4'', on the F-2,6 that joint is about 1''. That makes it easy to tell the difference when the fender is loose and sitting off the truck.

Very interesting, my 48-52 friends.

The fender opening size on 53-56 trucks was not as cut and dried. Some F250's and F350's had F100 fenders. If they came with 16" wheels the truck got the small fender openings. My 55 F350 flatbed has the same fender as my 54 F100. The F350 Express bed trucks got 17" wheels and therefore the bigger opening fender.
