front fenders, 48 - 52

Hi guys

Wonder is anyone can help, ive just bought a 1950 F1 with a wrecked passenger front fender. Am I right in thinking any 48 - 52 F1 front upper fender should suit.

Thanks

Actually, only the 48-50 versions will fit. The grilles on the 51 & 52s were different and affected the fender shape.

front lower section looks good but top is going to need a lot "tin work", you can get new steel rear fenders from Dennis Carpenter for $700 each.

Will take a lot of time to fix front and the rear time = money which do you have the most

Yea, there a lot of people waiting for Dennis Carpenter to start popping them out. I think it's been several years since they announced "coming soon". My old fronts are looking better and better every year the new one's are delayed, if they ever start making them that is. Look around locally on Craigslist, workable one's show up quite often.

The grapevine says that early ford and Dennis carpenter have joined up on this adventure and will putting them out in 2017. I am still waiting to see it in a catalog.

That fender is for a 48, 49, 50 F-2 thru 6 and looks to be a reasonable price

Hey Doyle,
Welcome aboard! That looks like a Texas license plate to me... Where did you happen to find it?

We used heavy fiberglass fenders from Midwest Early Ford - they ran around $265. Our's were
mostly bondo (filler) & would have taken forever to fix.

Good luck over there. What part of the UK are you from?
